Thanks for your service, Max!

Max Felsher has finished his second year of service as an AmeriCorps*VISTA. Max started at ReUse in July 2005, and has been a great asset to the organization. In his first year of service, Max helped to plan the grand opening of our Wellston location and helped to research electronic recycling options. Max also wrote a successful grant proposal to help fund our Community ReUse Days, which have since been held in Chauncey, Trimble, Jacksonville, Glouster and Nelsonville. In his second year of service, Max focused on improving efficiency of operations at ReUse Industries.

Max will be moving to Chapel Hill, NC with his girlfriend, who will be attending graduate school in the fall. Good luck, Max!

Changes at ReUse

There have been lots of changes at ReUse Industries in the past week. AmeriCorps*VISTA Max Felsher, who has been with us since July of 2005, finished his two years of service on July 16. Look for a feature on what Max has accomplished over the past two years and what his future plans are later on this week.

Additionally, we'd like to welcome our two newest full-term VISTAs, Scott Spice and Emily Camm. Today is their first day in the office, and we'll be posting a feature about them later this week on the blog.

Finally, here are some pictures taken of our most recent group of AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteers late last week. Enjoy!

Green around the web

  • If you haven't seen this already, you should check out Vanity Fair's online green issue. There's a ton of information on how you can help make our planet a better place for all of us.
  • Yahoo! has put together an environmental site, Yahoo! Green, which has a wealth of resources on protecting our environment
Next week at ReUse

Make sure to come down to the Jackson County Fair and visit us at our booth! The Jackson County Fair starts on July 16 and goes until July 21. The fair takes place at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Wellston. Daily admission is $7.00, and it's going to be a lot of fun. We hope to see you there!
