Project ReUse a shining success!

We would like to thank everyone who came out to Casa on Saturday to support ReUse Industries and take part in our first-ever DIY fashion show, Project ReUse. We ended up raising over $600 at the door, which is amazing!

Congratulations to Carly and Joan Ziemer, Daniel DiLoreto and their model, Jaime Nale on their winning design!

Also, congratulations to runner-up Allie Nordman and her model, Becky Kozar!

We'd like to thank all of the designers and models for doing such an amazing job. Everyone involved helped to prove the notion that sustainable fashion can be just as amazing as clothing bought new from a store.

Thanks to our winderful judges: Sonia Marcus, Ohio University's Resource Conversation Coordinator; Julia Pflaum, president of Ohio University's Fashion Associates; and Ryland Burhans, co-owner of Salaam.

Also, thank you to Paper Machetes, Men of Gentle Birth and Weedghost for making it a rocking evening.

We'd like to thank the local merchants who were so generous in venues and time:
  • Casa Nueva (thanks for the venue!)
  • The Standard Salon (thanks for doing all of the hair and makeup for the show!)
The following merchants were incredibly generous in donating gift certificates, merchandise, and free lessons which went into the prize baskets for our winning designers:Since this event went so well, we've decided it would only make sense to do it again! We're still deciding on a date, but expect Project ReUse II sometime in the next year. It's going to be even more amazing!

Also, we'll be posting pictures from the event in the next few days, so hang tight!
