ReUse Industries Highway Cleanup
Our highway cleanup that we held on March 31, in conjunction with the Keep Ohio Beautiful and Ohio Department of Transportation Roadway Cleanup, went very well. AmeriCorps*VISTAs Jennifer Squires, Max Felsher, Duane Bogart, and myself, Sherri Oliver, teamed up to clean the two-mile stretch of US Highway 50 that ReUse Industries has adopted. We'd also like to thank Brett Laverty, of the Raccoon Creek Watershed Project, for coming out and lending a hand.
Over the course of three hours and not-so-wonderful weather, we collected roughly 16 bags of trash which weighed in at a total of 330 pounds. That's a lot of trash! But now, the stretch of road leading up to ReUse Industries is once again clean, and I have to say, it looks wonderful.
